Hornets Win Homecoming

The Wellsboro Green Hornets took the field for the last time at home of the season to face the Montgomery Red Raiders. The Hornets came into this week's game at 3-3 after defeating Troy last week, and looked to do much of the same this week. Wellsboro got the ball to start the game, and promptly marched 95 yards downfield.

Just like last week, Junior Quarterback Cameron Jones connected with Senior Wide Receiver Colton Acorn. Jones would end up throwing 2 more touchdown passes on the night, one caught by Junior Running Back Jake Coolidge and the other caught by Acorn. Wellsboro's powerhouse backfield also had an excellent game and led the Hornets to a mighty 331 yards of total offense at halftime.

Wellsboro's defense also played steller on the night. Not only did they pitch a shutout, but they also had 4 interceptions. Senior Cornerback Pat Eaton had one, Jake Coolidge had 2, and Junior Matt Weaver had the final one. Wellsboro will finish out the remainder of the season on the road, and will take on Cowanesque next Friday night.
