JV Hornets Avoid Shutout

By: Ed Weaver | NTL Sports | October 1, 2007

The Wellsboro JV team faced the Towanda Black Knights in front of their first home crowd of the season. Things started out rough for the Hornets, as the Knights were able to shutout the Hornets at the half, 20-0. However, the Hornets were able to start moving the ball in the second half, and were able to put points on the board with less than a minute remaining in the game. On that scoring drive, Freshman Quarterback Nick Saniga connected several times with Sophomore Wide Receiver Nathan Bair and marched down the field. The final score of the game was Towanda 34, Wellsboro 8. The JV team will be in action next Monday night as they travel to Troy to face the Trojans.
