Girls soccer beats Towanda

Girls soccer beats Towanda

After coming off a heartbreaking double overtime loss to Sayre on Monday, the Hornets dropped Towanda 4-0. Wellsboro made some changes on the field and had some girls really stepping up. Allison Spang and Emilie Kramer swapped positions and both of them were solid the entire game and Jessie Catherman was really stepping up on the attacking side. Stepping out on the field tonight the girls knew they had to bring it and nothing less than a win would earn them a spot in the playoffs for Districts.

Victoria Pearson and Taylor Acorn put on a great assault on Towanda's defense. Pearson scored 3 goals and Acorn chipped the other. Senior Goalie Sherri Hovis also made 3 saves to record her 5th shut out of the season. With the win, Wellsboro improves to 9-9 overall. There was no JV game.
