Girls soccer falls to Sayre in 2OT

The girls soccer team fell to Sayre 2-1 in double overtime Monday night in Wellsboro. The Hornets got off to a good start as Senior Taylor Acorn scored in the 35th minute off an assist from Victoria Pearson. The Hornets were unable to hold the lead as Sayre tied the game in the 39th minute, and then later scored the game-winning goal in the 97th minute.

Senior Goalie Sherri Hovis recorded 10 saves in addition to Acorn's goal for Wellsboro. There was no JV game. Wih the loss, Wellsboro falls to 8-9 on the year. The team will be back in action this Wednesday, October 19, as they host Towanda.
