Hornets use strong 2nd half to beat Athens

The Hornets used 2 second half goals to down the Athens Wildcats Friday night in Wellsboro. Athens struck first at 12:57 on a goal by Mackenzie Warner to go up 1-0. Wellsboro would roubound, however, and battled back to tie up the game at the 35th minute on a Victoria Pearson goal.

The second half belonged to the Hornets as they added two more goals; one by Senior Taylor Acorn and one by Freshman Lauren Bleggi off an assist from Sarah Kramer. With the win, Wellsboro evens their record up at 7-7.

In JV action, Athens was able to shut out Wellsboro as they won 2-0. The Hornets will be back in action on Monday, October 10 as they travel to Mansfield for 4:00 game.
