Boys XC splits with Athens and Towanda

The Wellsboro Varsity boys cross country team split with Athens and Towanda tonight in their first home meet of the season. The Hornets fell to Towanda 25-33 and beat Athens 25-32.

Towanda also defeated Athens 18-41.

Senior Jordan Jackson was the top finisher for the Hornets in second place with a time of 17:26. Senior Bobby Hill finished in 4th place in 18:20, and Junior Joey Doganiero finished in 5th place (18:43).

Rounding our the rest of Wellsboro's runners were Freshman Dakota Cleveland in 13th (20:50), Senior Drew Patrick in 25th (23:27), Sophomore Dalton Messmer in 26th (23:37), Freshman David Zavetsky in 34th (28:45), and Freshman Alex Granger in 35th (32:11).

The team will be back in action on Thursday, September 20 as they host Northern Potter.
