Varsity softball rebounds against Williamson

The Wellsboro Varsity softball team rebounded from a loss to CV last night by defeating Williamson 4-3 tonight in Wellsboro. Freshmen Paige Carr and Lauren Bleggi led the Hornets at the plate with two hits each.

Carr ended the night going 2-3 with an RBI, Bleggi was 2-4, and Sophomore Brooke Kohler went 1-1 with three walks.

Sophmore Maggie Smith went 1/3-inning and walked three. Kohler took over for the final 5 2/3 innings and picked up her fourth win of the year as she struck out 9 batters.

With the win, the Hornets improve their 2012 season record to 11-5 (7-2 NTL West). The team will be back in action on Saturday, May 12, as they travel to Horseheads for a tournament.
