Daugherty finishes 2nd at Districts

Senior Chad Daugherty finished 2nd in his 195 lbs. weight class at Districts to qualify for Regionals.

Daugherty won his first match 9-1 against Montoursville's Lucas Shaheen 9-1 and picked up a 1-0 decision over Canton's Connor Route before falling to last season's state champion Ryan Solomon from Milton in 3:42. Daugherty is the first person this year to wrestle longer than a minute against Solomon.

Junior Brandon Owlett and Senior Eli Kennedy also competed at Districts over the weekend, but failed to qualify for Regionals.

Owlett won his preliminary match 13-0 against Troy's Trey Murray before dropping his second match 9-5 to Midd-West's Zach Heeter. Owlett won his consolation quarter final match 11-1 against Canton's Brooks Gleckner and dropped his final match 7-2 to Central Columbia's Aaron Johnson.

Kennedy won his first match 7-2 against Benton's Marcus Welliver, lost his 2nd match 1-0 to Montoursville's Connor Bassett, won his 3rd match by pinning Line Mountain's Robert Cook in 4.35 , and lost his 4th match to Muncy's Nick Roberts 4-2 in overtime.
