Girls basketball falls to Northeast Bradford

The Wellsboro Varsity girls basketball team dropped their home opener to Northeast Bradford, 54-36, Thursday night.

Northeast Bradford held a 36-18 lead at the half over the Lady Hornets, and were able to maintain that advantage to earn a non-league win over the home team.

Sophomores Sarah Ingerick and Alexa Singer led the Lady Hornets with eight points each, while Junior Peyton Wilson and Senior Brooke Kohler each had six, Junior Jordan Butters had four points on the night. Rounding out the scoring for the team were Sophomores Raisa Rogers and Jada Jackson with two points each.

Jackson had six rebounds and Ingerick and Singer had four assists each to add to their point totals.

In the J.V. game, Northeast Bradford edged the Lady Hornets 21-19.

With the loss, the team falls to 1-3. The team will be back in action on Friday, December 20 as they host Cowanesque Valley.
