Hornet track teams compete at New Balance Invite

The Wellsboro boys and girls track teams traveled to West Chester Friday to compete in the New Balance Invite.

For the girls, Senior Mackenzie Marple finished 18th in the 100m hurdles (17.26) and 6th in the javelin (106' 1"), Sophomore Lauren Bleggi 28th in the 100m run (13.65) and 16th in the 200m run (27.67), and the 4x800m realy team finished 11th with a time of 10:11.47.

Senior Randi Grim finished 65th in the 1600m run (5:44.73), Freshman Jada Jackson was 43rd in the 800m run (2:27.34), the 4x100m relay team was 14th with a time of 52.92, the 4x400m relay team was 12th (4:14.88), and Senior Kimberly Acorn took home 4th in the triple jump (35' 6").

For the boys, Junior Dan Brooks was 41st in the 100m run (11.86), Senior Bobby Hill was 5th in the 1600m run (4:19.34), Junior Joey Doganiero was 26th in the 400m run (53.21), Sophomore Kieron Smethers was 58th in the 400m run (55.32), Senior Jordan Jackson was 26th in the 800m run (2:00.11), the 4x400m relay team finished 14th (3:33.77), and Sophomore Nick Marple finished 13th in the javelin (144' 4").

The teams will be back in action on Tuesday, May 7th as they travel to Wyalusing.
