Mitchell, Shaffer highlight Wellsboro's All-Region soccer selections

Junior goalkeeper Jake Mitchell and head coach John Shaffer were two of 9 Hornets selected to the 2013 All-Region boys soccer team by the Towanda Daily Review.

Mitchell was named goalkeeper of the year while Shaffer was named coach of the year, his second nomination this year. Joining Jake and Coach Shaffer on the first team are Senior Erik Stemcosky and Sophomore Joe Allen.

Senior Dan Brooks and Sophomore Quinten Curneir were both second team selections, while Sophomore Tucker Worthington, Senior Cody DeHaas and and Junior Gillan Alafoginis were named to the third team. In addition to these selections, Worthington and Curneir were also named to the all-rookie team.

WellsboroAthletics.com would like to congratulate Coach Shaffer and these young men on their selections, and thank them for all their hard work and dedication to the team during this season.
