MS football romps Muncy

The Wellsboro Middle School football team kicked off its season with an impressive 51-0 win over Muncy Thursday night in Wellsboro.

8th grader Quinn Henry led the charge on offense scoring three touchdowns on the night, two by air and one on the ground. 8th grader Cole Cavanaugh, 8th grader Alex Kozuhowski, 8th grader Chase Moser, and 7th grader Taynton Repard all had touchdown runs for Wellsboro as well.

8th grader Kody Rice was on the receiving end of Henry's passing touchdowns. 8th grader Collin Pietropola successfully converted his extra point attempts on the night and completed a two-point conversion as well.

The Hornet defense was stingy all night setting up solid field position. Leaders on defense were 7th grader Robert Brown, Pietropola, Cavanaugh and 8th grader Nick Ingerick stopping the run game. Dalton Prough added an interception for the defense.

With the win, the Hornets start the season at 1-0. The team will be back in action Thursday, September 12 at 5:00 p.m. as they travel to Athens.
