Varsity volleyball falls to Williamson

The Wellsboro Varsity volleyball team fell to Williamson on Monday night in four games.

The Lady Hornets took the first game 25-22 but the Warriors won the next three 25-16, 25-20 and 25-21.

Junior Danielle Mihalik had nine kills and 25 digs while Junior Jordan Butters added six kills, 10 points and two aces. Senior Alex Kurtz added 14 assists, 13 points and three aces, Junior Peyton Wilson had six assists, Senior Katie Straniere had 44 digs, and Senior Kaelyn Keane had four blocks in the loss.

In the J.V. match, the Lady Hornets rallied to win 2-1 after falling in the first game 23-25 but winning the next two, 25-22 and 18-16.

With the loss, the Lady Hornets fall to 6-8 (2-6 NTL Division 1). The team will be back in action on Tuesday, October 15 as they host rival Mansfield.
