Volleyball falls to Mansfield in three

The Wellsboro Varsity volleyball team fell to Mansfield in three games Sautrday afternoon in the first round of District IV playoffs.

The defending champions were able to get ahead of the Lady Tigers at various stages of each game, but Mansfield found a way to capitalize off of Wellsboro's errors when it counted.

Mansfield took the first set 25-22 and the second and third 25-21 to advance to the next round.

Junior Danielle Mihalik led the team wiht 8 kills, Junior Peyton Wilson had 8 assits, Senior Maggie Smith had 10 points an ace, and 12 digs, Senior Alex Kurtz had 9 points and 4 aces, Senior Katie Straniere had 17 digs, and Senior Kaelyn Keane had 5 blocks.

With the loss, the Lady Hornets end the 2013 season with a record of 9-10 (3-7 NTL Division 1).
