Girls XC wins two, boys split at Coudersport

The Wellsboro Varsity Girls XC team picked up two wins and the boys earned one at Coudersport on Tuesday, September 23.

The girls team defeated Coudersport 23-25 and Northern Potter 19-40. Freshman Anna Bleggi was the top finisher in 2nd place at 23:33, followed by Junior Camryn Keane in 4th (24:01), Junior Jordyn Coffee in 6th (24:17), Senior Caitlynn Butler in 7th (24:21), Junior Samantha Bailey in 8th (24:34), and Senior Annie Sweeney in 9th (25:08).

In the boys race, Wellsboro beat Northern Potter 15-50 and lost to Coudersport 30-25. Sophomore Alden Weiner led the Hornets with a 6th place finish in 21:17. Sophomore Bryon Callahan was 7th (21:37), Sophomore Joey Messmer was 9th (22:16), Freshman Connor Brought was 10th (22:43), Senior Dalton Messmer was 13th (23:20), Freshman Logan Morral was 14th (26:38), and Freshman Noah Smith was 15th (33:38).

In the Middle School race, the Wellsboro girls beat Coudersport and Northern Potter 15-50 while the boys lost 32-24 to Coudersport. Jaime Palmer and Aidan Perry were the top finishers for the Middle School teams.

The Varsity girls improve to 6-0 (4-0 NTL) while the boys are now 1-5 (0-4 NTL) on the year. The teams will be back in action on Saturday, September 27 at the NEPA Invite.
