The Wellsboro Middle School Volleyball team lost their first match in three years to Troy on Wednesday, September 3.

The Middle School Lady Hornets dropped the first game 25-23 and the second 25-13. Heidi Zuchowski led the team with 4 spikes and Cathryn Brought had a kill.

"We need to work on receiving a serve, communicating, and going to the ball," said head coach Jenn Outman. "We are a young team, with three 7th graders starting so there is room for improvement."

In the B game, the Lady Hornets won in three games (26-24, 20-25, 15-12).

With the loss, the team starts 2014 off 0-1. The team will be back in action on Saturday, September 6 as they host Athens.
