Track teams second at Coudersport Booster Invite

The Wellsboro Varsity boys and girls track teams competed at the Coudersport Booster Club Invite on Friday, May 2 with both teams finishing in second place.

The boys scored 78 team points and the girls tallied 98.

For the boys, Senior Dan Brooks won the 100m in 11.56 and Junior Michael Pietropola was 5th at 12.27. Brooks was 2nd in the 200m (24.0), Freshman Devan Warner was 17th (27.4), and Freshman Jacob Singer was 21st (28.02).

Senior Joey Doganiero was 2nd in the 400m (52.92) and won the 800m (2:09.66). Freshman Bryon Callahan was 8th in the 800m (2:26.86), Sophomore Issac Leach was 4th in the 1600m run (5:21.82), and Sophomore David Zavetsky was 9th at 5:30.88. Leach finished in 5th in the 3200m run at 11:53.4.

Sophomore Rich Tardieu was 5th in the 300m hurdles at 45.11, the 4x800m realy team of Callahan, Zavetsky, Singer, and Freshman Brandon Lamphier finished 3rd at 9:50.75. Tardieu was 3rd in the high jump (5' 7"), Pietropola was 3rd in the long jump (18' 7"), Tardieu was 11th in the triple jump (35').

Senior Blake Gamble won the shot put at 43' 6" and was 4th in the discus (111' 1.5"). Junior Ben Davis finished 11th in the discus (98' 4") and 8th in the javelin (126' 6.5").

For the girls, Junior Lauren Bleggi won the 100m at 13.76 and Sophomore Lindsey Graver was 3rd at 13.96. Bleggi tied for 1st in the 200m at 27.71 and Graver finished 3rd in 28.44. Junior Caitlynn Butler was 7th (1:08.24) and Freshman Janessa Davis was 12th (1:12.36) in the 400m.

Butler (2:48.52) was 9th and Junior Annie Sweeney was 10th (2:48.95) in the 800m run, Sophomores Camryn Keane (6:17.91) and Samantha Bailey (6:25.05) were 7th and 8th in the 1600m, and Keane was 3rd in the 3200m at 13:48.08.

Senior Kaelyn Keane was 4th in the 100m hurdles at 17.95 and 4th in the 300m hurdles at 52.39.

The Wellsboro 4x100m relay team of Bleggi, Graver, Sophomore Raisa Rogers, and Sophomore Jada Jackson won at 51.52. The 4x800m realy team of Bailey, Camryn Keane, Butler, and Sweeney also won at 11:04.33.

Sophomore Mikayla Feil (4' 8") was 5th in the high jump followed by Rogers at 6th (4' 8"), Sophomore Joey Taft was 4th in the pole vault (7' 0"), Graver was 6th in the long jump (14' 7"), and Sophomore Maddy Kyle was 13th in the triple jump (27' 6").

Senior Alex Kurtz (28' 11.25") and Jackson (28' 2.75") were 5th and 6th in the shot put, Kurtz was 9th in the discus (70' 3"), and Kaelyn Keane (104' 2") and Kurtz (96' 6") were 2nd and 3rd in the javelin.

Both teams will be back in action on Monday, May 5 as they host North Penn and Williamson.
