Cross Country teams compete in Altoona Invite

The Wellsboro Cross Country teams traveled to Altoona on Saturday, September 19 to run in the Mountain Lion Invite.

The boys team finished in 11th overall with 263 points. Freshman Aidan Perry took the top sport for the Hornets with a 16th place finish at 18:01. Junior Alden Weiner (19:11) was 44th, junior Bryon Callahan (19:58) was 67th, sophomore Connor Brought (20:09) was 72nd, freshman Bergen Weiner (20:13) was 74th, sophomore Kyle Wilson (22:30) was 129th, and sophomore Logan Morral (23:56) was 143rd.

In the girls race, the Lady Hornets finished in 9th with a team score of 271. Sophomore Anna Bleggi finished in 10th place with a time of 21:00. Freshman Taylor Romania (23:47) was 57th, senior Camryn Keane (24:28) was 70th, senior Jordyn Coffee (24:36) was 73rd, senior Samantha Bailey (25:08) was 85th, and freshman Zoe Iseri (25:51) was 96th.

In the Middle School races the Hornets had three top-10 finishers on the afternoon. Austin Richards came home 4th (12:06) for the boys. Fore the girls, Jaime Palmer (13:41) was 7th overall and Aislinn Hoose (14:04) was 9th.

The teams will be back in action on Tuesday, September 29 on the road in Wyalusing.
