Girls Soccer ties Sayre

The Wellsboro Varsity Girls Soccer team tied Sayre 2-2 to start the 2015 season.

Senior Sarah Ingerick scored the game's first goal to put the Lady Hornets up 1-0. Sayre's Chloe Tracy scored later in the first half to tie the game at 1-1 before Sayre's Kirsten Covey scored off an assist from Tracy to put Sayre up 2-1 with 15 minutes left in the game.

Junior Kelsey Logan tied the game up with four minutes left.

Wellsboro out-shot Sayre 29-25 and had an 8-3 advantage in corner kicks. Sophomore Kailee Clymer also made 21 saves in goal for the Lady Hornets.

Wellsboro won the JV game 1-0.

The team will be back in action on Saturday, September 12 as they travel to Port Allegany.
