The Wellsboro Middle School Soccer team shut out Northern Potter 1-0 on Thursday, September 24.

Both teams failed to find the back of the net in a hard fought first half. The Hornets looked like they were going to score several times and seemed to keep the ball in their offensive third for most of the half.

After a scoreless first half, Wellsboro finally struck in the second as Joseph Grab won a 50/50 ball and passed to Kaeden Mann who converted the game's only goal.

Northern Potter would not give up and created more opportunities for themselves in the second half, however Wellsboro seemed to luck out time and time again holding on to their one goal lead.

"This afternoon's game could have went either way," said head coach Ed Hamm. "Northern Potter plays hard and will be a challenge for us when we play them at home."

With the win, the Hornets improve to 4-1. The team will be back in action on Thursday, October 1 as they host Williamson.
