Hornet grapplers fall to Troy

The Wellsboro Wrestling team won three matches but fell to Troy 39-15 on Thursday, January 21.

Troy picked up forfeits at 106 lbs., 120 lbs., and 160 lbs. Hunter Cohick defeated senior Tyler Evans by 19-4 tech fall at 138 lbs., sophomore Cory Busch was pinned by Tyler Williams in 1:02 at 152 lbs., freshman Hunter Brown lost a 17-2 tech fall to Colin MacWhinnie at 170 lbs., and freshman Robert Brown lost a 19-4 tech fall at 195 lbs. to Zach Zimmerman.

Wellsboro's wins came from junior Caleb Sinkler, who won a 6-5 decision at 145 lbs. against Michael Borden, and two forfiets from Nick Ingerick at 220 lbs. and senior Owen Covert at 285 lbs.

The loss drops the Hornets' record to 0-13 (0-7 NTL). The team will be back in action tonight as they host Sayre on Senior Night.
