Lady Hornets drop fourth straight

The Wellsboro Varsity Volleyball team dropped their fourth straight game with a 3-1 loss to Troy on Thursday, September 22.

Despite winning the first set 27-25, the Lady Hornets dropped the next three sets 26-24, 25-19, and 25-23.

Senior Kirsten Florio rung up 16 kills, 13 points, 3 aces, and 4 blocks to lead Wellsboro on the night. Senior Morgan Florio recorded 15 kills and 11 assists, junior Jillian Graver had 6 kills and 2 blocks, and junior Sydney Tremper recorded 23 digs.

Junior Brianne Keane scored 7 points, senior Olivia Kurtz scored 9 points and had 14 digs, and junior Cheyenne Sherman had 8 digs and scored 4 points.

In the JV game, Wellsboro won 2-0 (25-20, 25-17) to improve to 9-0 on the year.

The loss drops the Varstiy team's record to 4-5 on the year. The team will be back in action on Monday, September 26 at Central Mountain.
