Middle School Soccer starts season with win

The Wellsboro Middle School Soccer team started the 2016 season with a 10-0 win over Sayre on Wednesday, September 7.

"I could not have asked for a better performance from the players, they beat them other team to the ball they passed well, they controlled the ball in our attacking half for more than half the game," said head coach Wes Wood. "Overall was a prominent performance of Wellsboro's players skills and team work."

Wellsboro scored in the first 4 minutes after receiving the ball to start the game. The first goal was scored by Owen Richardson after a pinpoint cross from Will Poirier. Jena Boyce had 2 shots on goal and 2 goals, One was assisted by Joseph Grab and the other was assisted by Poirier. Kara Clymer also had 2 goals and 4 shots on goal, One was assisted by Will Poirier. Grab had 3 shots on goal and 3 goals, one was assisted by Will Poirier the other by Kaeden Mann.

Mann had 3 shots on goal and one goal which was assisted by Will Poirier. Will Poirier had 3 shots on goal. Richardson had 2 shots on goal and 2 goals, Poirier assisted one of those goals and Mann assisted the other. Zach Singer had 3 shots on goal. Cam Littleton had one shot on goal. Jessa Lohr also had one shot on goal. Zack Rowland and Ethan Ryan both recorded 2 keeper saves.

The team is back in action on Wednesday, September 14 at Galeton.
