Hornets finish 5th at NTL Coaches Meet

The Wellsboro Cross Country teams both brought home 5th place finishes at the NTL Coaches Meet on Saturday, October 14.

"Wellsboro ran very well today," said head coach Ron Brought. "We had 13 runners PR on this course. It's great to see the kids peaking at this time of the season. I'm very optimistic about the times we will run at the District IV meet on the 26th."

In the boys race the Hornets tallied 115 places. Junior Aidan Perry led the team with a third place overall finish at 17:24. Senior Connor Brought (17:47) was 6th, junior Bergen Weiner (18:50) was 18th, junior Zack Busch (19:28) was 34th, sophomore Lucas Citrino (21:14) was 63rd), senior Logan Morral (21:20) was 64th, freshman Aidan Fletcher (23:13) was 81st, junior Taylor Wheeler (23:39) was 83rd, freshman Daniel Swanson (24:37) was 89th, sophomore Tyren Wetzel (29:13) was 93rd, and senior Noah Smith (30:01) was 94th.

The Lady Hornets tallied 121 places in their race, led by senior Anna Bleggi in 6th overall in 21:42. Sophomore Kyiie Butler (24:08) was 26th, junior Kara Doane (24:20) was 29th, junior Rachel Chamberlain (24:32) was 32nd, freshman Aislinn Hoose (25:21) was 37th, and freshman Alexis Banik (26:41) was 44th.

The Wellsboro girls also finished 5th in the Middle School race. Madeline Gage paced Wellsboro with a 7th place finish in 12:11. Aidan Coffee led the boys with a 29th place finish (17:24).
