The Wellsboro Varsity Girls Soccer team scored a 2-1 non-league win over Port Allegany on Monday, October 16.

The win was the Lady Hornets' fifth in a row.

Senior Kailee Clymer opened the scoring with 17 minutes in the first half as her sister, freshman Kerrah Clymer, assisted to put Wellsboro ahead. Port came back and tied it up, however, just five minuts later on a Cailey Barnett goal.

The score remained tied until midway through the second half as senior Alyssa Yungwirth scored the game-winning goal off an assist from junior Emma Poirier.

The Lady Hornets outshot Port Allegany 23-5 and had 7 corner kicks to their 1. Senior Sydney Tremper made 3 saves in goal.

The win improves the Lady Hornets' record to 9-5-1 (8-3-1 NTL). The team will be back in action later tonight as they host Williamson for Senior Night.
