Middle School soccer tops Williamson, 4-1

The Wellsboro Middle School Soccer team won their fourth straight game after tying with North Penn-Liberty against Williamson on Saturday, October 7.

Wellsboro scored four goals on the day to Williamson's one.

The first Wellsboro goal was scored by Dylan Abernathy after a corner kick from Jack Poirier two minutes into the first half.

Williamson scored with five minutes to go in the first half to tie it at 1-1 before the young Hornets score three second half goals to claim their 7th win of the season.

Jack Poirier scored after an assist from Dylan Abernathy to put the Hornets back in front, then Peyton McClure scored from about 20 yards out after a pass back from Poirier. Poirier capped the scoring on a one-on-one with Williamson's keeper.

Lilly Abadi recorded 2 saves in the game for the Hornets.

Wellsboro (7-0-1) will be back in action later today against Athens.
