Williamson hosting Junior High soccer tournament

Williamson is hosting their annual Junior High soccer tournament on Saturday, October 21.

Teams competing are Williamson, Wellsboro, Galeton, Athens, Northern Potter, and Sayre.

Tournament Info

  1. 9:00 a.m. start
  2. There will be two fields. The "A" field will be the Varsity Field, Field "B" will be the field in the track.
  3. Each game will consist of one (1) 30 minute game
  4. This tournament will run on a point system as follows:
    1. Win - 2 points
    2. Tie - 1 point
    3. Loss - 0 points
  5. This is a 6 team round robin format. Each team will have 5 games. There will be no championship game. The team with the most points at the end of the tournament will be crowned champion. In the event of a points tie the following criteria will be used to determine the champion:
    1. Head-to-head
    2. Goals For
    3. Goals Against
  6. Penalty Shot rules:
    1. Each team selects 3 shooters to begin with. If it is a tie at the end of the three shooters each team will select one more shooter at a time until a winner is crowned.
  7. Coaches – Please be sure that your team is at its designated field on time and is ready to go by the start times listed.
  8. There will be a concession stand running all day and we will have plenty of food and drinks available. Please make sure you tell your players and parents to be throwing their trash away in the garbage cans. There will be cans at each bench as well as several around the concession stand.
  9. Coaches, please inform your parents that there is an admission fee for spectators for this tournament. All spectators must pass through the "ticket gate" located between the two fields and pay the admission.
