Callahan named NTL Offensive MVP

Junior Caitlyn Callahan was named the Northern Tier League's Offensive MVP on Monday, November 26 as the league announced their Large and Small School Division All-Stars.

Callahan had a phenomenal season for the Lady Hornets, who finished runner-up in the PIAA District IV Class AA tournament, as she led the team in kills (318), was 2nd in service points (173) and attempts (261), was 2nd in digs (111), and 3rd in blocks (25). For her career Callahan has recorded 529 kills, 297 service points, 77 aces, 89 blocks, 139 digs, and 16 assists.

Joining Callahan on the NTL Large School Division Volleyball All-Star team are junior Megan Starkweather and senior Heidi Zuchowski. Starkweather was a first team selection while Zuchowski finished her volleyball career with second team accolades.

Starkweather led Wellsboro with 294 assists, was 2nd in blocks (30.5), and was 3rd in service points (167), aces (53) and kills (61), and was 5th in digs (34).

Zuchowski led the Lady Hornets with 183 service points and 41 aces in 275 attempts, was 2nd in kills (88), and was 4th in digs (49).

Callahan (1st team) and Starkweather (2nd team) were both PIAA District IV Class AA All-Stars.
