Senior Dalton Prough was named the Towanda Daily Review's All-Region Baseball Player of the Year last week.

Prough capped a stellar senior athletic season as he was also named the Daily Review's All-Region Defensive Player of the Year.

Prough recorded his second straight 29-hit season to give him an even 100 hits for his career, joining his older brother Dawson Prough (124) and Ty Antoine (118) as the only three Hornets to reach the 100-career milestone.

In addition to his 100 career hits, Prough also scored 99 runs with 18 doubles, 2 triples, 42 RBIs, and hit .365 (100-for-274). In the field Prough had a .953 fielding percentage (170 putouts, 136 assists, 15 errors) and contributed 19 double plays, and went 3-2 in 5 starts on the mound with 38 strikeouts.

"Being named All-Region Player of the Year is a great way to end off my high school athletic career," said Prough. "It's an honor to accumulate all of the awards I have this past year. I thank Brian Fees for all he has done for me in my high school career. This award wouldnt have been possible without my father coaching and all of my teammates. I feel we were one of the few true teams this year in the aspect of being a family. This award is just icing on a large cake and I couldnt be happier with how my career has finished."

In addition to being named the All-Region Player of the Year Prough was also a first team selection. Joining Prough on the list were seniors Johnny Rowland and Caleb Tennis sophomores Silas Wagaman and Billy Lechler, and freshman Kaeden Mann.

Rowland accompanied Prough on the first team while Tennis and Wagaman were both second team selections.

Lechler was named a Gold Glove winner at 3rd Base and Mann was named to the All-Rookie team.

WellsboroAthletics.com and WellsboroBaseball.com would like to congratulate Dalton, Johnny, Caleb, Silas, Billy, and Kaeden on being selected to the All-Region team.
