On Saturday February 15, the North Penn-Liberty Mounties wrestling team headed to Troy for sectionals with eleven other schools. The bracket matches were long and hard as the tournament progressed up from the 106 weight class. Several wrestlers made it into the semi-finals like Roger Learn, Braydon Garverick and Kohen Lehman. Wrestlers that lost their first matches had a chance at redemption in the consolation matches. The Mounties fought hard in both the regular matches and their consolation matches. While the North Penn-Liberty wrestlers worked their hardest, there were six athletes that qualified as placers in the final matches. Roger Learn took 5th place in the 106 category. Braydon Garverick took 4th in the 113 category. Patriot June also took 4th in the 126 weight category. Gavin Sexauer placed 6th in the 145 weight class match. Mitchael Tice also took 6th in the 152 class match. Finally, Kohen Lehman took 5th in the 160 weight category match. Working hard through the regular season has provided the team with the great results they saw at the tournament. Despite being a small school, the Mounties wrestling team has some big spirit and even bigger determination.
