Hornets capture 3rd straight boys tennis league championship

The Wellsboro Boys Tennis team defeated rival North Penn-Liberty 4-1 to claim their 3rd straight NTL championship (2021, 2019, 2018) on Wednesday, April 28.

The Hornets finished a perfect 6-0 in league play.

"It's a great accomplishment and direct result of having a team full of competitive athletes who have a continuous desire to improve," head coach Andy Borzok said.

Singles Results

River Hicks-Lee def. Owen Richardson 6-3, 6-3
Liam Manning def. Ian Beck 7-6 (7-4), 6-0
Connor Pierce def. Dylan Eveland 6-0, 6-3

Doubles Results

Will Poirier/Zach Singer won via forfeit
Jacob Abadi/Gavin Gardner won via forfeit

The win improves the Hornets' record to 13-1 (6-0 NTL). The team is off until the PIAA District IV Class AA tournament begins.
