Athens girls third at Whitney Point.

The Athens girls' cross-country team took third at the Whitney Point Invitational Tuesday.

The Lady Wildcats had 80 points while winners Delhi amassed 20.

Athens' Emily Arnold (22:47.6) was 10th while teammate Sophie Adams (23:43) took 15th. Also for the 'Cats, Selkie Bishop (24:56.6) was 26th, Caitlyn Powell (24:57.0) was 27th and Isabelle Menard (27:56.4) took 38th to round out their top five.

Faith Burrowes (25:56.2) was the top Tioga runner in 34th. Lauren Tinney (28:55.5) was 43rd and Jenna Steele (35:23.7) was 52nd.

In the boys' race, Athens (107) was fourth and Tioga (163) finished seventh. Johnson City (25) won.

Athens' Nate Aquilio (18:39.5) and Tioga's Ezra Steele (18:42.5) we're 12th and 13th overall.

Also for the Wildcats, T.J. Toscano (19:24.8) was 22nd, Tivon Ligouri (20:28.9) was 31st, Mason Henderson (20:39.0) was 33rd and Griffin Jacobson (20:47.4) finished 34th.

For Tioga, Ty Middendorf (20:48.5) was 35th, Evan Hubbard (21:29.5) finished 45th, Brayden Vargason (21:53.1) was 52nd and Lucas Nichols (22:58.2) took 62nd.

In the girls' junior high race, Athens was second with 42 points behind Karlee Barltow's third place finish in 10:45.7.

Emma Bronson (11:22.3) was 10th, Olivia Bartlow (11:23.5) was 11th and Abby Prickitt (11:36.2) took 14th. Tioga's Kate Burrowes (11:41.7) finished 15th.

In boys' junior high action, Athens (66) was third as Nate Quinn (10:01.4) took 11th for the only local in the top 15.
