CV, Wellsboro fall in D4 team tennis.

The Cowanesque Valley girls' tennis squad defeated Bucktail, 3-1, in the first round of District IV tennis playoffs on Tuesday. CV then fell to Loyalsock, 3-0, in the second round while Wellsboro lost to Jersey Shore 3-0.

For the first match in singles, Bucktail won, then CV took the rest. Sarah Rathmell defeated Brynn Williams, 6-2, 6-2, and Delaney Doan defeated Sara Kepler 6-2, 6-0.

In doubles, Megan Wattles and Sarah Boyer defeated Dani Green and Dani Rider, 6-1, 6-0, and Kaitlyn Streeter and Kori Birdsall defeated Christina Delatorre and Carlie Gentzyel 6-2, 6-4.

In the Loyalsock match, in singles, Brynn Williams fell to Katie Savidge 6-0, 6-0, and Delaney Doan lost to Jenna Beiter 6-1, 6-0.

In doubles, Megan Wattles and Sarah Boyer lost to Abigail Patel and Sienna Tolomay 6-1, 6-0.

For the Hornets at first singles Olivia Ryan lost to Sophie Hayes 6-3, 6-2 while at second singles Morgan Guthrie fell to Cassidy Rell 6-4. 6-3.

At second doubles the Hornet duo of Ashayla Faulkner and Kassie Lewis lost to Jocelynne Barr and Krista Eck 6-0, 6-1.
