Five Rams advance to quarters at King of the Mountain.

Five Wyalusing wrestlers remain alive in the championship bracket after the first two rounds of the King of the Mountain Tournament on Friday evening. Creighton Edsell (160), Ed Mapes (170), Mike Wilcox (195), Jackson Chilson (220) and Randy Wildrick (285) are each wrestling in the quarterfinals today.

Creighton Edsell received a bye as the top seed in the 160 pound bracket. In the round of 16, Edsell defeated Bethel Park's Luke Montgomery, 6-2.

Seventh seeded Ed Mapes pinned Boyertown's Preston Fox at 3:58 to advance to the round of 16 in the 170 pound bracket. Mapes then defeated Owen J. Roberts' Jason Zollers, 2-1 (TB-1).

Fourth seeded Mike Wilcox received a bye in the 195 pound bracket. Wilcox then downed Warrior Run's Alex Brouse, 7-4.

At 220 pounds Jackson Chilson defeated Burrell's Mason Slahtovsky, 5-2, to advance to the round of 16. Chilson the pinned Owen J. Roberts' Dylan Bauer at 1:41.

Randy Wildrick pinned Bellefonte's Dan Orndorf at :48 to advance in the 285 pound bracket. Wildrick then defeated Williamsport's Ethan Williamson, 6-1.

At 120 pounds, Darren Schum, seeded eleventh, pinned Owen J. Roberts' Eric Shanahan at 5:35 to advance to the round of 16. Schum then fell to Line Mountain's Matty Coller by fall at 2:12. In consolations, Schum defeated Saegertown's Alexander Kightlinger, 4-2.

Logan Newton pinned Central Mountain's Kayden Busey at 4:22 in the 126 pound bracket top advance to the round of 16. Newton then fell to Owen J. Roberts' Connor Quinn by technical fall, 16-1 at 2:53.

At 138 pounds, Luke Yonkin-O'Connor pinned Warrior Run's Forrest Seybold at :55 to advance to the round of 16. Yonkin-O'Connor then fell to Bishop McDevitt's Tyler Martin, 7-4. In consolations, Yonkin-O'Connor pinned Northern Lebanon's Nicholas Winters at 1:52.

At 152 pounds, Joe Doss defeated Penn Trafford's twelfth seeded Tony Zona, 10-3, to advance to the round of 16. Doss then fell to Owen J Roberts' Dan Mancini by technical fall, 17-2 at 5:00. In consolations, Doss defeated Central Mountain's Austyn Carson, 12-7.

Still alive in consolations are Schum, Newton, Yonkin-O'Connor, and Doss.

Wyalusing sits in 15th place with 46 team points.
