Galeton doubles advance to D-IV semis.

Two Galeton doubles teams, two Wellsboro doubles teams, and two Towanda doubles teams competed at the District IV doubles tournament on Monday.

Galeton's team of Eli Trimbur and Dave Rigas received a bye in the first round, and then defeated Bloomsburg's team of Dave Zimmerman and Collin Kruczek 6-0, 6-0 in the second round.

Towanda's team of Matt McNeal and Anthony Vogel topped Loyalsock's Jack Bomboy and Andrew Czap 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 in the first round and then defeated Milton's team of Brent Artley and Cody Greenaway 6-4, 7-6.

McNeal and Vogel then fell to Galeton's Trimbur and Rigal 6-2, 6-0 in the third round.

Trimbur and Rigal are now set to take on Mifflinburg's team of Nolan Beck and Tom Lichtel in the semi-finals.

Towanda's second team of Demetrius Hill and Noah Poll defeated Bloomsburg's Cong Zheng and Pat Haley 6-2, 6-2 in the first round, but then fell to Central Columbia's Avery Pruden and John Duncan 6-2, 6-1.

Galeton's second team of Evan Griffen and Cooper Sunderlin defeated Milton's Kyle Wagner and Eric Counsil 6-2, 6-3 in the first round.

Wellsboro's team of Noah Fitch and Gabe Leach defeated Shikellamy's team of Jacob Mouery and Kyler Balliet, 7-5, 6-2 in the first round.

In the second round, Wellsboro's team of Fitch and Leach fell to Galeton's team of Griffen and Sunderlin, 6-2, 6-0. Griffen and Sunderlin then lost to Central Columbia's team of Pruden and Duncan, 6-2, 2-6, 6-4 in the third round.

Wellsboro's second team of Ryan Stough and Tanner Runyan lost to Montoursville's team of Casey Haas and Liviu Reynolds 6-4, 6-3 in the first round.

The semi-finals and finals will be Thursday at West Branch tennis club starting at 2 p.m. with the finals to follow. The singles finals will be at 2 p.m. as well.
