Athens' Horton earns 100th win.

Athens' Chris Horton won his 100th match at the Bedford Tournament on Friday.

Horton's 6-3 quarterfinal win got the mark while he also had a fall in the preliminaries to reach the semi-finals where he will face defending state champion Gavin Teasdale of Jefferson-Morgan.

A.J. Burkhart (132), David Galasso (160) and Nate Bradley (170) also reached the semi-finals.

Burkhart, the top seed, won with a fall and a 14-2 major decision while Galasso won with a fall and a technical fall. Bradley, the second seed, won with back to back falls.

Bailey Poarch (106), Devin Sweat (138) and Jon Vough (182) are all alive in the wrestlebacks.


Towanda has two in the semi-finals at the Ultimate Warrior Tournament.

Cooper Mosier (152) and Seth Johnson (220) both went 2-0 at the West Branch tournament Friday.

Mosier won by fall over Brockway's Andrew Hickman then beat Johnsonburg's Jake Zimmerman 5-3 to reach the semis. He will face Bald Eagle's Gage McClenanan in the semi-finals.

Johnson, the second seed, pinned United's Marc McCullough and then majored Moshannon Valley's Nathan McDonald 10-0. He will face third seed Parker McClellan out of Altoona.

Tyler Hawley (106), Theron Hottle (145) and Clay Green (182) are still alive in the wrestlebacks.

Wrestling continues today at 9 a.m. with wrestlebacks while the semi-finals are at 10 a.m. The finals are slated to start at 5:30 p.m.
